Eagles guitarist Steuart Smith retreats from the rock band after the diagnosis of Parkinsonism.
In a statement shared from People, Smith, 72, he found that he would leave the band, known for songs like “Hotel California” and “Lyin ‘Eyes”.
“With a deep regret that, because of the performance problems associated with my recently diagnosed Parkinsonism, I think I have to get out of my role with eagles, while I can still gracefully,” Smith said.
“It’s been a big quarter of a century and I hoped to be able to end up with the band this year, but now I have to do what is best for everyone interested.”
According to Parkinson’s Foundation, Parkinsonism is a “set of symptoms of movement associated with Parkinson’s disease and other disorders”. Symptoms include “slow movements along with stiffness, walking and balance problems and/or trembling.”

Don Henley, founder of Eagles, also praised Smith for his term.
“Steuart Smith withdrew from the tour. Eagles will forever be grateful for the extraordinary talents he has brought to our shots and live performances,” said Henley, 77, in a statement shared with people.
“Steuart will miss it a lot, but he will always be part of our music family. We know that many fans join us in desire.”

Smith performed among other artists with Rosanne Cash, Shawn Colvin, Rodney Crowell and Wynonna Judd. He joined the Eagles in 2001, basically replacing former leading guitarist Don Felder after Felder, 77, was fired from the band.
During his mandate with the Eagles, Smith was known for performing with a double -door guitar. He wrote several songs on the 2007 band album. Long path outside Eden.
Per DiversityDuring the residence of the band in the sphere in Las Vegas, Smith replaced the session guitarist Chris Holt when the eagles continued their stay on January 17th after September and December 2024.

Eagles were formed in 1972 with members of the founder Henley, Glenn Frey, Bernie Leaden and Randy Meisner.
With Henley, the band make John Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill and Deacon Frey. Their residence of the sphere is part of their Long goodbye Goodbye a tour, which began in September 2023.
