Elden Ring: How To Get Grafted Blade Greatsword

One of the mighty Colossal Swords in Elden Ring that players can use in a build revolving around strength is the Grafted Blade Greatsword. The Grafted Blade Greatsword requires more strength to use than any other greatsword in Elden Ring, forcing players to have that stat increased to level 40 at a minimum. Additionally, players will also need to make sure that their dexterity is at level 14. With enough Rune farming and quickly leveling up early, any Tarnished can wield this weapon even before they face Margit.

Fortunately, players who want to use the Grafted Blade Greatsword earlier in Elden Ring can do so by raising their strength to 27 and choosing to use it as a two-handed weapon. Wielding the Colossal Sword as a two-handed weapon also allows players to use some of their Runes for their endurance stat as well, which is definitely needed considering how heavy it is. Luckily, the trip that players must take to get the greatsword is full of enemies that are easier to defeat early on in Elden Ring as well. In fact, it may even be better for players to search for the Grafted Blade Greatsword before they continue toward Stormvel Castle.

Given the hefty strength requirement, the Grafted Blade Greatsword is a fantastic weapon to use for the best Vagabond build in Elden Ring, as well as most Hero builds. Additionally, players who are deadset on using this weapon early on should really try to stick with medium-weight armor as their heaviest option until their endurance is high enough. Being able to dodge out of any attack becomes useless if a medium roll can’t be used, at the very least, which tends to be the drawback of using Colossal Weapons early in Elden Ring.

Where To Find The Grafted Blade Greatsword In Elden Ring

The Grafted Blade Greatsword can be found in Castle Morne at the Weeping Penisula after defeating the Leonine Misbegotten boss. This is an optional dungeon on the southern tip of the peninsula and, fortunately, the Leonine Misbegotten is one of the easier boss fights in Elden Ring. To reach Castle Morne, follow the road east from Gatefront Ruins in Limgrave and continue down that road south beyond the Bridge of Sacrifice. Continuing to follow that road south will lead directly to Castle Morne.

The Grafted Blade Greatsword cannot be infused with Ashes of War, but it does have the Oath of Vengeance weapon skill. By “swearing an oath upon the greatsword to avenge the clan” players can temporarily raise all of their attributes for 30 seconds. Additionally, poise is increased while the Oath of Vengeance is active.

Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
