Elton John shares another news about his eyesight.
During the premiere night of the film The The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical in London on Sunday, December 1, the 77-year-old musician addressed the audience and revealed that he was unable to see the show due to his eyesight.
“As some of you may know, I’ve been having issues and now I’ve lost my sight. I didn’t get to see the show, but I enjoyed it,” the Grammy winner said on stage, per Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported that the musician’s husband, David Furnish, helped her off the stage. John also credited Furnish, 62, with helping him with his vision problems, telling the crowd: “To my husband, who has been my rock because I haven’t been able to make it to a lot of previews… it’s hard for me to see it, but I love hearing it and it sounded good tonight.”

Elton John reveals that he lost the sight in his right eye due to an infection: ‘It knocked me over’
The “Rocket Man” singer previously revealed in an Instagram post back in September that he had contracted the infection, noting at the time that he had “only limited vision in one eye.”
“I am recovering, but it is an extremely slow process and it will take some time before vision returns to the affected eye,” he wrote at the time.
“I am so grateful to the wonderful team of doctors and nurses and my family who have taken such good care of me over the past few weeks,” John continued. “I spent the summer quietly recuperating at home and feel positive about the progress I’ve made in my healing and recovery so far.”

In an interview with Good morning America in November, John confirmed that he had lost the sight in his right eye while on holiday in July. The loss of vision was the result of an eye infection he got while vacationing in the south of France, he pointed out.
“Somehow it hit me and I can’t see anything. I can’t read anything, I can’t watch anything,” he explained. He added that his “left eye is not the best”, which prevented him from reading texts, but said he was “taking the initiative to try to improve it”.
Elsewhere in GMA interview, John said that “it’s been a while since I’ve done anything” in the studio.
“There’s hope and encouragement that everything’s going to be okay, but right now I’m a little stuck… I’m going to the studio and recording, I don’t know,” he said.
