Emmerdale star Dean Andrews says he’s ‘happy I woke up’ as he’s rushed to hospital for surgery

EMMERDALE star Dean Andrews revealed he was rushed to hospital and shared a photo from his hospital bed.

The 60-year-old actor took to Instagram to post a photo of himself after surgery and told fans he was “happy to wake up.”

Dean, who plays Will Taylor in Emmerdale, wrote alongside his broadcast: “Surgery went well. Very happy to wake up. Many thanks to my surgeon Chris and all the staff.”

He did not reveal the details of why he was in the hospital, but fans were quick to send messages.

One wrote: “Best wishes for a speedy recovery.”

Another said, “Get well soon. Take it easy.” And a third added: “I hope you’re well. Sending you lots of love.”

Dean’s Emmerdale character Will is married to Kim Tate, played by Claire King, but last year wed his long-term partner Helen Bowen-Green.

His TV wife Claire was in attendance and he shared a cheeky photo of his “two wives”.

Alongside a photo of himself with new wife Helen and his soap wife Claire, he wrote: “I was hoping my two wives would be a little more upset when they found out about each other, but they don’t seem to care.”

Over the years, Dean has become a TV fan favorite.

He is best known for his role as DC Ray Carling in Life On Mars and the spin-off show, Ashes To Ashes.

The Rotherham-born star began her acting career with a role in rival soap EastEnders in 2001.

Since then, Dean – who goes by the nickname ‘Deano’ – has taken on one-off or recurring roles in many TV series, including the erstwhile Victim, Bloodline and Shameless.

Before joining Emmerdale, he starred in Silent Witness, Agatha and the Truth of Murder and Midsomer Murders.

Now fans recognize Dean as Will Taylor, the father of Dawn Taylor and the last husband of Kim Tate.
