Sharing a photo of one of the doors of their newly renovated home, Angel and Dick describe how the walled garden has brought them joy. The caption explains: “The Castle’s walled garden is a special sanctuary and Dick restored it after decades of neglect. The first things Dick planted were small fruit trees and a lavender goods”.

“Our Chateau lavender packages are filled with English lavender, presented in a beautifully illustrated fabric and finished with a herringbone ribbon…meaning if it ends up being it. If you lose the scent, you can simply refill it.”

In May, it was confirmed that the broadcaster had officially ended its partnership with Dick and Angel. Based on Duration, the decision was made after an independent investigation into the couple’s behavior on the show. Reportedly, the initial concerns were raised by Two Rivers Media – the production company behind it Escape to the Castle Franchising.

It has also been reported that the pair had been at odds with the producers, with an independent human resources specialist conducting an investigation that included interviews with the producers and crew members.

In an official statement, a Channel 4 spokesperson said: “Following our review, we have made the decision not to work with Dick and Angela on any future new productions.” Two Rivers quickly followed suit, posting: “We can confirm that we will no longer be working with Dick and Angela and are unable to comment at this time.”

At the end of May, Angel got entangled in another story that caught the eye after a recording of Angel swearing at a crew member was leaked to the media. The Strawbridges responded with an Instagram post. “The Strawbridge family’s decision early last year was to end Escape To The Chateau,” the couple explained.

“We know there’s a lot of stories in the press these days. It’s not worth our effort to comment or give context, because anything can make good headlines. We understand. Every story has two sides, and from the incredible support we’ve received, most of you know that.

“We’re proud of who we are and feel we have to do what we believe is right, which is really what makes Escape to the Chateau so unique and while we’re really parting ways with Channel 4 , we’re incredibly grateful to them and their teams for their support and creativity over the years. The future really couldn’t be more exciting and we thank you for your continued love and support.”

The Strawbridges currently don’t appear to have any TV appearances planned, however, they have announced plans to begin their UK tour in 2024.
