Heavy people don’t have to stand on the set with Eva Longoria!
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the L’Oréal Paris suite at the Martinez Hotel during the Cannes Film Festival in France, Housewives alum, 49, explained why she approaches new projects first by considering her circle of friends.
“I want to work with people I love,” she says, mentioning friends and fellow actresses Kerry Washington and Gabrielle Union, with whom she has upcoming projects.

“Life’s too short to work with ——- and I’d rather be surrounded by people I love and creatives I respect,” she continues, describing the process of deciding what to work on next as “reverse engineering.”

Star of an upcoming AppleTV+ drama The land of women says he first considers who he wants to work with, then looks for projects that will work best for everyone involved.
“The people and their vision and what they bring to it is more than the actual project” that will bring her to the set, Longoria tells PEOPLE.
She has a list of directors and producers she would like to work with in the future.
“Édgar Ramírez, I really want to work with him,” he said In search of Mexico the host says, referring to Emilia Perez actor, whose film, starring Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana, recently premiered at Cannes.

As for her creative process, the longtime L’Oréal Paris ambassador says she will “develop projects around that idea” and eventually collaborate on something together. “Like, ‘Okay, if I want to work with Carmen Maura, what would be a good vehicle for that?’ ” she explained.
Longoria must have been juggling quite a few projects lately. The Flamin’ Hot The director, who recently announced the Mexican cookbook, will host CNN’s upcoming series In search of Spain and will also appear in the upcoming season of the hit Hulu comedy Just the murders in the building.
