Career
Evan Lysacek won the Juvenile National Championship in 1996. He also advanced to Intermediate and earned a tin medal at the Junior Olympics in 1997. In the 1999-2000 season, he made his international junior debut. He competed on the ISU Junior Grand Prix circuit from 1999 to 2000. He also won the junior championship at the 2000 USA Championships. At the USA Championship in 2001, he made his debut in the senior national team. He finished 10th as third substitute for the 2003 Four Continents Championship.
Lysacek just won the bronze medal in the 2007-2008 Grand Prix final. Additionally, he won a bronze medal at Skate America in 2008. He is the first American to win gold at the Olympics in individual competition since Brian Boitan in 1984. Lysacek contributes to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In addition, he has various sponsors, including Ralph Lauren, AT&T and Coca-Cola. He appeared in ‘Dancing with the Stars’ as a celebrity contestant.
