The question is: “How many balls can you see here?”

It’s easy to figure out that there are at least 10 balls because you can see them all stacked on top of each other, but surprisingly, a lot of people will get the answer completely wrong.

A nice picture shows a pack of colorful balls on top of each other in a pyramid formation.

All balls are exactly the same size and shape, and differ only in color,

They range from the most common red look to orange, pink, green and blue balls.

At first glance, it’s pretty obvious that you need to add up the number of balls in the bottom row, plus the two middle levels, and finally add the top ball into your total.

But is it really that simple?

A lot of people think they’re super smart and realize that the shape might be three-dimensional, which means there are at least a few more balls behind the pile to help it stay upright.

Have you already added these extra balls or are you sticking with your original guess?

If not, try to focus on the individual elements in the image and search properly because all 10 are in there.

The people who designed the artwork made it very difficult by including a clever trick that surprised many.

What makes this puzzle so difficult is the amount of different possible answers it seems as you have to decide which method to use to solve the quiz.

The artwork – shared by Daily Quiz and Riddles on social media – was inundated with comments full of confident guesses that ended up being spectacularly wrong.

People bowled a number of good hits including 25, 23, 26 and even 29, but they all counted miles too many balls.

The most common guess was 30, which was almost twice the actual answer.

One person who thought they had cracked the code even drew a clever diagram showing their work.

They came up with 20 balls and broke them up saying 10 were on the bottom, then six, then three and finally one on top.

But sensationally, even this was wildly wrong despite being one of the closer guesses.

Studies have shown that people who regularly face optical illusions and puzzles see great improvements in their problem-solving skills, concentration and attention.

Psychologists at the University of Glasgow have discovered that looking at an optical illusion can improve vision by allowing you to see fine print.

And according to ZenBuisness, “These visual puzzles can provide you with good mental exercise, which in turn can help you think more effectively and solve problems more easily.”

The photo left many wanting to find the exact number of balls, but a few struggled with the clever wording used in the question which really opens up a can of worms.

In this particular piece, people with a high visual IQ should be able to spot the trick being played on all of us and find a solution in a super fast way.

The best advice is to re-read the question and stay focused on what you are being asked to do rather than making any assumptions – no matter how certain you are.

If you want a big clue, we will tell you that the important word is “see”.

If you still can’t find the total number of balls, scroll down to discover the solution below.

There are 16 balls in the picture because you only count how many are actually visible in the picture.

So, seven of them are at the bottom, five in the second row, three in the third row and I’m the last one at the top.

If you still want to prove that your eyesight is good, try to figure out which four numbers are hidden in the blurry blue picture – but be aware that it’s difficult.
