It may be easy to see the murky water nestled between tall trees and overgrown vegetation, but you’ll have to hone in to spot the snake in a Reddit post by @wow-such-thought.

The creature is an expert at blending in to ward off predators, but pay attention and you might spot the reptile before time runs out.

And that clock is ticking.

But don’t give up just yet.

Keep scanning the scene – up and down and left to right.

Our little snake friend is at the base of the tree and slides into the water on the right.

“Exactly! If you know they’re there, then the snake is easy to avoid and live in peace,” said another Redditor.

“A snake that waits in dry leaves until I step toward it, and then decides to move, deserves to be screamed at in a high-pitched, panicked voice,” they continued.

Advantages of brain teasers and optical illusions

Researchers have developed many tests to show how different regions of the brain respond to brain teasers and optical illusions. There are many advantages.

  • They are not only entertaining, but shed light on how our brain interprets visual data.
  • By regularly exercising your brain, you improve your ability to focus and observe details.
  • Studies have shown that people who regularly face optical illusions and puzzles see great improvements in their problem-solving skills, concentration and attention.
  • Improved concentration and attention span can prevent cognitive decline in old age.
  • Optical illusions can improve vision by allowing you to see fine print.

“It’s real. If someone has a snake as a pet, I’ll pet it and let it hang wrapped around my arm and just do its thing,” said another user.

“I see one in the wild and I turn into a terrified little child who screams and runs away.”
