Everything to Know About The Neighborhood Season 6

Welcome back to Neighborhood! The beloved CBS sitcom has officially announced the release date for its sixth season.

The series follows the lives and antics of the Johnson and Butler families next door after Dave Johnson and his family leave their Midwest, Michigan life and move into the Pasadena neighborhood of Calvin Butler and his family when Dave’s wife Gemma takes a job as the principal of a private school in Los Angeles .

Although Calvin is not initially charmed by the awkward but well-meaning Dave, they soon become friends and their families also become close, with Gemma befriending Calvin’s wife Tina.

The fifth season of the hit sitcom aired its 100th episode, cementing the show’s place as the second-longest-running current comedy on CBS, behind Young Sheldon.

The release of season 6 was officially announced in February 2024, after a delay due to the Hollywood strike. The new season is expected to pick up where Season 5 left off, with new jobs and complex family dynamics at play.

When will Neighborhood season 6 to be released?

6th season Neighborhood release is expected on February 12, 2024.

Main man Cedric the Entertainer shared the news on his Instagram, writing: “GUESS WHO IS BAAAAACK!!! SEASON 🖐🏾☝🏾6!!”

The release date comes later than expected, after the show and other CBS scripted series missed their fall 2023 airing window. The network’s entire fall lineup has been pushed back to air in early 2024 after a strike delay.

CBS has released a promotional teaser for its upcoming lineup of primetime shows in November 2023, which includes clips from Neighborhood and officially announced the expected premiere date of the sixth season.

The promotion also announced that a series of new and reruns will begin immediately after the Super Bowl on February 11, 2024, starting with a new drama hosted by Justin Hartley Tracker.

What is it Neighborhood season 6 about?

5th season Neighborhood ended with Calvin and his son Marty starting a new business together after Calvin sold his auto repair shop, Calvin’s Pit Stop, and Marty quit his job as an engineer at JPL. Season 5 also saw Marty break off his engagement to his fiancée, Necie, shortly before their wedding date.

Another key storyline explored in Season 5 was Dave’s rebuilding of his relationship with his estranged father Lamar, played by Kevin Pollak.

While there have been no official announcements or information released about the storyline coming in Season 6, the emotionally charged final episodes of Season 5 hint that the same themes will be explored in more depth in the upcoming season.

The entire cast is expected to return for season six, including Max Greenfield as Dave Johnson, Beth Behrs as his wife Gemma Johnson and Hank Greenspan as their son Grover Johnson.

Also expected to return are Cedric the Entertainer as Calvin Butler, Tichina Arnold as his wife, Tina Butler, Sheaun McKinney as their oldest son, Malcolm Butler, and Marcel Spears as their youngest son, Martin ‘Marty’ Lawrence Butler.

Season 5 featured fun guest appearances from Patti LaBelle as Calvin’s mother and Tracy Morgan as Calvin’s brother, so there’s a possibility they’ll return to reprise their roles. Kevin Pollak might also reprise his role as Dave’s father.
