FORMER DUTCH striker Bas Dost collapsed on the pitch in a terrifying Eredivisie incident.
The NEC Nijmegen ace fell to the floor in the center circle in the closing stages of the game against AZ Alkmaar on Sunday.

The health scare happened at NEC Nijmegen’s match against AZ Alkmaar
Emergency services rushed to the scene to provide assistance.
Fortunately, his club has already confirmed that the 34-year-old is conscious and moving.
Speaking to Xu, formerly known as Twitter, they said: “Bas Dost is conscious and has been taken off the field. The match has been stopped.”
They later posted a tweet showing him with a thumbs up in a hospital bed.
They described it in the words of the player, who read: “I’m fine. The help I got on the pitch was fantastic. I’m in hospital now and feeling good. Thanks for the support.”
The match was suspended until further notice after the break.
The anxious players formed a circle around Dost to cover him.
Dutch football website Football Oranje reported that the player raised his arms above his head and was carried out on a stretcher.
NEC director Wilco van Schaik is reported to have said: “The bass is on its way and in good hands.”
It is said that Dost received a standing ovation from the crowd as he was led off the field.
He has scored two goals so far this season and scored a third for the visitors against AZ before suffering a health scare.
Dost played 18 times for the Dutch national team, scored one goal and added three assists.
His last appearance was against England in March 2018.
Dost previously played for Wolfsburg, Sporting CP, Eintracht Frankfurt, Club Brugge and FC Utrecht.
