While he didn’t go into detail, he teased that fans can expect “awkward” moments between him and his bride-to-be, joking: “You can call us more awkward and more awkward.” Lifting the lid on his experience, he explained, “My journey at MAFS was nothing short of tumultuous. But it was the greatest experience I’ve had in my life in such a short period of time.

“The person I’m with is actually the most beautiful person in the world. I’m so grateful to have met her and she’s given me so much more than I ever thought I’d get out of this experience. I thought I’d come in, make some friends, bh, bh, bh, done, but I feel like I had the biggest learning experience of my life.”

The investment communications consultant, based in Wiltshire, also teased that some villains will appear during future episodes of the show, although he was quick to add that he won’t be one of them.

“It’s going to be wild,” he shared. “However, there are some villains who show up this season with some questionable behavior, and I can’t say more than that or I’ll spoil it for the viewers.”

The experience was “life-changing” for Thomas, who admitted he had been single for three-and-a-half years before enlisting. I thought, ‘Wow, this is such a unique opportunity,'” he explained. “I thought it would be nice to test the waters, but then you realize this is actually a marriage. There’s actually a woman there with her father walking you down the aisle, and you’re hoping you don’t have a shotgun behind his back.”

The 27-year-old also promised there would be plenty of tears along the way, saying: “Viewers understand the fact that we live in front of the cameras, but then they wonder why we’re so invested, why we’re so upset when the smallest thing happens.

“It’s because it’s our life, it’s 100% of our life. We don’t see anything else, we literally live in our relationships and friendships and when they collapse, our life collapses. One of my best co-stars on the show, when he left, and I won’t say who, I was more broken when than when my last girlfriend broke up with me.”

Thomas’ wedding airs on Tuesday, but it seems he has little work to do to win over some sections of the fan base, with one viewer of the show saying: “‘Thomas shouldn’t be on MAFS. He should be on GB News, telling viewers why is sewage in the rivers good for us.'” The groom-to-be is confident that he will be able to show his “kindness and understanding” by pointing out that the key to a good marriage is “compromise”.

But Thomas found camaraderie with his co-stars, saying, “Honestly, I made friends for life. What surprised me the most was how deep-rooted the bonds became. I talk to so many cast members every day, I see them every week, and I I will see them to look at them. I can’t imagine my life now before MAFS and the people I met through this amazing experience.”

Will Thomas be lucky in his search for love?

This series of Married At First Sight UK making history with his first transgender bride, Ella, and Jay, who was born without part of his left arm and sometimes felt he wasn’t “worthy of someone.”

Speaking about the diverse cast, Thomas said: “It’s a representation of all aspects and so many people can relate to that. People can look up to Ella, for example, and think, ‘Oh, if she can do that, she can embrace who she is, and so can I’.

“It creates that sense of acceptance, which is the key word. Even though with Jay it could be seen as something to be looked down upon, it’s something to embrace and empower yourself, not something to be ashamed of. I love Luke and Jay to the end and when I saw their wedding, it just melted my heart there is such a beautiful match.”
