Fabian Allen is an all-round Jamaican cricketer who represents the West Indies in international cricket. He is a right-handed batsman who bowls a slow, left-arm orthodox ball.

Fabian Allen was born on Sunday, May 7, 1995 (25 years old in 2020) in Kingston, Jamaica. His full name is Fabian Anthony Allen. His star sign is Taurus. He graduated from Vail Technical High School. While at school, he made Jamaican national history by scoring 338 points in a match, breaking the previous highest individual score of 325 points in rural boys cricket created by Shacoya Thomas of Eltham High School. After achieving this achievement, he was also named RJR Communications Group’s 2012 Best Boys Cricketer. For Fabian, the environment in which he grew up was not too good. When talking about his early life, Fabian said,
I grew up in a tough place. We were tough and could bear the pain. Where I lived, playing cricket was very difficult. We used to play cricket on the dirt.”
He started playing cricket at the age of 9 and with his untiring dedication and hard work, he rose to fame in the international cricket world.

Profession
Fabian Allen was part of the West Indies Under-19 Cricket World Cup squad for 2014, but he did not play in any of the matches. On 25 November 2016, Fabian played his first-class match for Jamaica in the 2016–17 Regional Four-Day Tournament. In November 2017, he scored an innings of 169 for Jamaica in the 2017–18 Regional Four-Day Tournament against Trinidad and Tobago. This was also his first century in first-class cricket. He came into the limelight with his outstanding performance in the 2018 Global T20 Championship in Canada. Fabian has played in various major domestic cricket tournaments around the world.
Some of the major domestic franchises that Fabian Allen represents include Jamaica Tallawahs (CPL), Multan Sultans (Pakistan Super League), St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (CPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad (IPL) and Sylhet Sixers (BPL).
His impressive performances in the domestic circuit helped him to earn a spot in the West Indies tour of India in 2018. On 27 October 2018, he made his international debut for the West Indies in a One-Day International (ODI) match against India in Pune. A week later on 4 November 2018, he also made his debut in a T20 match against India. Over the years, Fabian Allen has become a good all-round cricketer and has become an important part of the West Indies limited-overs team. Although Fabian is known for being a short-format cricketer, he does not consider himself just a short-format player. It is his dream to represent the West Indies in a Test match. Talking about it, he said,
It’s just that I am playing more of the shorter game now and I am focusing on the shorter game. I still love red-ball cricket. Red-ball cricket is my dream.”

He was sold to Kings XI Punjab at the 2021 Indian Premier League auction for a base price of Rs 7.5 crore.
Facts/Trivia
- In 2016, Fabian was involved in a serious car accident that left one of his arms severely injured. Doctors said that Fabian might not be able to pick up a bat again; however, he proved them wrong by making a comeback and scoring big in the domestic circuit. Talking about the accident, Allen said,
This could happen to anyone. I was trying to protect another driver coming from the opposite direction. Unfortunately, the car lost control and flipped over. The doctor said I was lucky because I almost lost my hand. But God kept me going.”
- In 2020, Fabian Allen missed out on the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) because he missed a charter flight to Trinidad, where the tournament was to be held. Due to COVID-19 restrictions in place in Trinidad, a charter flight was the only way for Allen to get to Trinidad.
- Fabian’s body is covered with tattoos. He even has the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup logo tattooed on his neck.
