Fanny Serrano A Makeup Artist Passed Away At The Age Of 72

Fanny Serrano is a makeup artist. She died on Tuesday. Tita Fanny, or TF, was the most gifted beauty expert in the industry. Designers Circle Philippines revealed his death on their Facebook page today. Most of the members of the association are Filipino fashion designers. Beauty and fashion icons paid their respects with a message that read:

“A sad day for the entire fashion and cosmetics business.” We have lost a PIONEER, a GENIUS and a FORCE OF CREATIVITY. On the other hand, Designers Circle Philippines has lost our one and only ‘TF’, Tita Fanny Serrano, our guide, inspiration and friend. TF, rest in strength and beauty! We will be forever grateful and privileged to have known a true Filipino idol throughout our lives.”

Serrano’s family also confirmed the 72-year-old’s death on Facebook. Maktin Miranda announced the death of their father in a post:

“It is with a sad heart that I inform you that my father, Felix Mariano Fausto Jr. alias Fanny Serrano, quietly joined our maker yesterday evening, at 21:00 MNL, in the silence of our home.”

The family is soothed by the outpouring of love, the message says. They were also delighted to see many fans “celebrating his life”.

Cause of death of Fanny Serrano

In March 2021, the makeup artist suffered a massive stroke and was put on life support. Serrano’s friend and megastar Sharon Cuneta said two months later that he was receiving treatment at home. According to the Manila Times, his health has further deteriorated since he returned home. The cause of death had not been made public at the time the Manila Times article was written.

Serrano, in addition to being a recognized beauty and fashion icon, has also acted in several films. He appeared in films such as Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita and Tarima, both released in 1989 and 2010. He acted in many episodes of the TV show Maalaala Mo Kaya. The program aired on the ABS-CBN network. According to sources, he got his big break in the entertainment sector when he was hired as a make-up artist for the iconic actress Celia Rodriguez. He used to work in a small salon in Manila.
