Fantasia Barrino brought sparkle to the 2024 Grammy Awards.
Purple the actress turned heads when she walked the red carpet wearing lip jewelry with wife Kendall Taylor by her side. Barrino, 39, wore a huge silver ring with what appeared to be a diamond ornament. The statement piece curled just below her chin, creating an unmissable style moment.
Barra’s look didn’t end with her unique jewelry placement: The Grammy winner wore a sheer black gown by designer Cong Tri. The floor-length dress featured a slit skirt and draped neckline, which she paired with matching gloves and a black clutch. She completed her set with black strappy heels.

After wowing on the carpet, Barrino made her way inside, where she joined Oprah Winfrey in paying tribute to Tina Turner, who died in May 2023. The singer wore a gold outfit with oversized shoulder pads and sparkly fringe that moved with Barrino as gave an energetic performance of Turner’s hit “Proud Mary”.

Barrin’s powerful tribute to Turner ended the In Memoriam segment on a high note, making it a true celebration of the lives lost in the music industry over the past year.

The American Idol alum recently opened up to PEOPLE about how she “lost everything” after winning the music competition series in 2004. Ultimately, Barrino said her struggles were “necessary.”

“I’m grateful for that… If I hadn’t gone through that, I wouldn’t be the woman I am today,” says the singer, who was nominated for a Golden Globe in January for her role as Celia in Purple.
