Farid Karachiwala was born in Mumbai. In 1993, he studied at New Era High School in Panchgani, Maharashtra. In 2000, he pursued a five-year BLS and LLB course at the Government Law College, Mumbai. Farid has dreamed of becoming a lawyer since he was a child. While in college, he worked at his father’s law firm, which ultimately helped him.

In 2006, he was hired by Wadia Ghandy, one of the oldest law firms in India. Later, he became a partner in the firm. In 2012, Farid opened a law firm in Delhi with a partner in Wadia Gandhi. Additionally, he became an advocate of record before the Supreme Court of India in 2012. He represented the central government in the nearly four-year-old KG-D6 gas case against Reliance and other companies. In 2018, Farid joined J. Sagar Associates, India’s leading national law firm, as a partner. Farid specializes in corporate, commercial litigation and arbitration and regularly appears before banks and commercial institutions. He has also acted for banks and corporates in contentious matters in Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, Goa, Lucknow, Kolkata and Bengaluru. He also represents state and central governments in international commercial arbitration in London and proceedings before the High Court and Supreme Court of India. In July 2020, Farid became a member of the Maharashtra and Goa Bar Council as an Advocate. In January 2002, he became a member of the Bombay Bar Association and works as an advocate.
