Rekha’s biography, reportedly written by Yasser Usman, hints that Farzana and Rekha had a romantic and potentially sexual relationship. An excerpt from the book purportedly states,

However, Yaseer Usman took to Twitter to criticize the speculations and rubbished them. He further clarified that expressions such as “live-in relationship” or anything suggesting that the relationship was sexual were never used throughout the manuscript.

On the other hand, Rekha’s sister-in-law and brother-in-law Anil Gupta reportedly claimed that Fazana and Rekha were in a relationship. Talking about the incident in an interview, she revealed that when the entire family gathered in Delhi for a family function, they noticed a significant change in Rekha’s behavior whenever Farzana was around. Reka’s sister-in-law said in an interview,
Something different happened between Reka and Farzana. Being friends versus being sisters is very different, but Reka and Farzana behave differently. Reka and Farzana’s relationship is like husband and wife. All this is what I have seen with my own eyes. “
Profession
Farzana worked as Rekha’s hairdresser in the 1980s. In 1986, she became her secretary. In 1988, Fazana moved into Reka’s house and has lived there ever since.

- Farzana mostly wears menswear.
- According to sources, Farzana’s original dream was to become a film director and he even assisted on several film projects. However, she later decided to abandon it as she found it less attractive than expected.
- Her relationship with Rekha was reportedly so close that she was the only one allowed in Rekha’s bedroom, a privilege not even enjoyed by the housekeeping staff.
- Although Rekha’s husband Mukesh Agarwal said in his suicide note that no one was responsible for his death, blame continued for Rekha’s death. There are also rumors that Farzana could be one of the reasons for Mukesh’s death.
