I had the infamous phone conversation with Eminem, where he tried to talk me into not retiring. ‘Joe, we need you. You are one of us.’ I was super done, but I went back out there for Killer Mike. The man won that Grammy.”

“I don’t want to go for U2 or Bono or The Rolling Stones and when I get an album it sounds like one of these young kids rapping,” he said, adding, “so when you get Joe’s LP, it’s gangsta hip-hop, that are hit records, they are lyrics.”
He added, “You know, my daughter is 18 and she heard the album, and she said, ‘Yo, dad, what are you doing’? You’re talking crazy.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t want to buy Ice Cube’s album, and he speaks well, I want to hear him say k… to the police.'”
“And that’s what I love about this album. I kept it really consistent with all my music in the past. Just 2024, different flow patterns…I just wanted to show my growth,” Fat Joe concluded.
