Fern Britton is a household name across the country thanks to her long career as a TV presenter. The star is perhaps best known for hosting ITV’s This Morning, a role she took on for ten years from 1999 to 2009.
But did you know that Fern isn’t the only famous face in her family? Her brother is a Hollywood actor who is currently starring with Idris Elba in the new Apple TV+ series, Hijack.

Who is Fern Britton’s brother?
Fern Britton’s half-brother is actor Jasper Britton. While Fern was born in 1957 to Tony and Ruth Britton, Jasper is Tony’s son from his second marriage to Eva Castle Britton and was born in 1962.
Jasper, who grew up in London, began his acting career on stage when he played the King of France in the play King Lear at the Old Vic.

He performed in various theatrical productions and spent a season with the Royal Shakespeare Company, performing in The beggar’s opera And Antony and Cleopatra. He even replaced Eddie Izzard in the lead role in Brian Cox’s 1995 production Richard III and received critical acclaim for his performance.

He recently portrayed Johnny ‘Rooster’ Byron in the revival of Jez Butterworth Jerusalem at the Watermill Theater in Newbury in 2018.
In terms of screen roles, Jasper has appeared in several television shows and movies, including the 2005 historical melodrama. New worldstarring Colin Farrell, Jonathan Pryce and Christian Bale.

He also appeared in the episode Midsomer Murder, Heartbeat and a BBC sitcom Carrie & Barry.
Jasper is currently starring in the Apple TV+ horror series, kidnapplays one of the kidnappers, Marcus.

Fern clearly enjoys watching her brother act and has shared her support on Twitter. “Going to bed to watch episode 3 of Hijack! Apple TV series starring my brother Jasper Britton with a guy named Idris Elba,” she wrote.

Fern opened up about her childhood while starring in an episode of the new Channel 5 series, There’s no place like homethis early year.
She revealed that she did not know that her parents divorced when she was young and that she only knew about her brother Jasper at the age of 15.

“I didn’t know what was going on in the family at the time,” she said. “I just know that me, my mom and my sister were here and my dad doesn’t live here.
“It’s weird. In those days, people didn’t tell you things.”

The film, starring Idris Elba, follows the journey of a hijacked commercial plane on a seven-hour flight from Dubai to London. Idris plays business expert Sam Nelson, who uses his negotiating skills to try to save himself and his passengers.
