A FOOTBALL fan died after being hit by a car while going to a match with his dad.

Jordan Hattersley, 36, was struck as he walked to Bramall Lane to watch Sheffield United v Sunderland on November 29.

The terrible collision happened around 7:25 p.m., and Jordan was rushed to the hospital from the scene.

But earlier this month he tragically died in hospital.

His father Richard Hattersley paid an emotional tribute today, saying: “Jordan was dedicated to Sheffield United. It was his main valve after his family.

“He followed his passion, and at matches he was an inspiration and a role model for his brother and sister.

“We are all devastated by his loss.”

Jordan and his wife Kirsty, who has a son together, have been together for 13 years and married in Cyprus earlier this year.

She said: “We thought we had time. We should have had time.

“We were at the height of our relationship, on cloud nine and just high on life and it all disappeared in a split second.”

Kirsty explained how the couple’s six-year-old son, Freddie, was traumatized by the tragedy,

She added that the family donated Jordan’s organs and said: “He gave the gift of life this Christmas.”

The mum also praised staff at the intensive care unit at Northern General Hospital for the way they fought to save her husband.

She said: “You bought us precious time with Jordan and a chance to say goodbye and for that, me and his family will be forever grateful.”

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Our officers were called at 7.25pm ​​on Friday, November 29, to reports that a car had hit a pedestrian on Suffolk Road, at the junction with Granville Road.

“The vehicle, a red Lexus, is believed to have been traveling along Suffolk Road in the direction of Queens Road when it collided with a pedestrian, now named as Jordan Hattersley, as he crossed the road.

“He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and sadly died in hospital earlier this month.

“Jordan, who lived in Treeton, was walking to the Sheffield United ground with his father and two younger siblings to watch Sheffield United v Sunderland when the collision occurred.”

The force is continuing to appeal for information and is appealing for anyone who may be able to help with their investigation to come forward.
