Forest Whitaker is one dynamic dad!
The Godfather of Harlem The star, 63, attended the 2024 Faces of Hope Gala on Friday, September 27, when he was joined by his two daughters, Sonnet, 27, and True, 26, who he shared with his late ex-wife, Keisha Nash.
Whitaker had a matching moment with True, as father and daughter both dressed in elegant black outfits. The actor wore a tuxedo with a bow tie, while True wore a silk dress with a lace bodice. She matched the dress with a black handbag, black heels and a dark red lip.
As for Sonnet, she opted for a more delicate look in a pink dress with silver sequins and feathered sleeves. She carried a matching silver purse and wore pink eye shadow and bright red lips.

Whitaker posed for photos with an arm around each of his daughters. Sonnet and her father lookalikes could be seen grinning widely, while True smiled into the camera.
The family appeared at the event several months after Nash’s funeral in January. Whitaker, Sonnet and True previously attended a celebration of life ceremony alongside Nash’s older daughter Autumn, who she had from a previous relationship.
Several celebrities, including John Travolta and Stevie Wonder, also stopped by to pay their respects.
True confirmed her mother’s death at age 51 on Dec. 6 via an Instagram Stories post that included a black-and-white photo of Nash. It was later determined that Nash died of alcoholic liver disease.

“Goodbye mom. I love you forever and ever,” she wrote. “The most beautiful woman in the world… thank you for teaching me every thing I know. I will see you in my dreams and feel you in my heart.”
Whitaker and Nash first met on the set of the movie in 1994 blown after she was cast as his character’s girlfriend, according to CBS News. Whitaker proposed the following year, and the couple married in 1996 in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The couple eventually divorced in 2018 after 22 years of marriage, with Whitaker citing irreconcilable differences.
