During the Resistance questline for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2, players will unlock the “Recover a Data Drive from Daily Rubble” task after they complete the prerequisite task, “Plant Wiretaps to Monitor IO Communications.” This new challenge might bewilder fans, as the Daily Rubble is a new landmark some may have yet to discover. However, the Daily Rubble is actually the blimp that previously flew over the Daily Bugle landmark in the northeast. Therefore, it should be expected that the blimp would not have crash-landed in an area too far off from its original spot.
Accordingly, to complete the “Recover a Data Drive from Daily Rubble” quest in Fortnite, players need to head to the body of water east of the Daily Bugle and Sanctuary. This sizeable inlet contains a group of islands, and the Daily Rubble is located to the northeast of this archipelago. Because this landmark is so far out from the mainland, it is likely that the Daily Rubble will be outside the closing circle. Therefore, players are recommended to rush to this location first before continuing with other tasks or hunting other Fortnite players.
Starting from one of the islands or eastern coastline near Daily Bugle, dive into the water and swim eastward towards the wreckage of the Daily Rubble. To move slightly faster in the water, players can perform a continuous dive-leap while swimming, which will propel them towards their destination.
Where To Find The Data Drive From Daily Rubble
After arriving at the Daily Rubble, go to the platform on the back of the structure. The Data Drive should be sitting atop a curving piece of the rudder at the southern end. To recover this disk, hold the displayed key or button that appears on-screen, depending on which platform the player is using. Players are advised to check their surroundings briefly before attempting to recover the Data Drive, as some hostile players might be lurking nearby.
Some players might run into the issue where the Data Drive in Fortnite doesn’t appear on the blimp’s wreck site. If this is the case, it presumably is because the previous task mentioned above regarding IO Communications wiretapping has not been yet completed. Additionally, be careful not to be confused and head to the Daily Bugle instead of the Daily “Rubble.” Finally, some players have complained that the objective’s location is quite tricky to see since it’s on the far edges of the map. Accordingly, players can zoom into the map to clearly display where they need to go.
Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
