Fouaad Mirza made his international debut at the 2014 Asian Games in Jakarta, competing in individual and team eventing. Fouad worked hard but failed to win any medals in the competition. Fouaad Mirza first came into the limelight after winning two silver medals at the 2018 Asian Games. Fouad won his first medal in the individual event and his second medal in the team event along with Rakesh Kumar, Ashish Malik and Jitender Singh. Fouad Mirza defeated his favorite Seigneur Medicott to win two silver medals at the 2018 Asian Games and became the first Indian since 1982 to win two silver medals in an individual event at the 2018 Asian Games people.

Fouaad Mirza won his first international gold medal at the CIC2 2018 Championships in the Netherlands. In the same year, he also won a silver medal at the CCI1 competition in Germany. Fouaad Mirza achieved minimum qualifying requirements (MER) with both of his horses Seigneur Medicott and Dajara during the January 2020 eventing event in Baborowko, Poland , qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, after which he became the first Indian equestrian since 2000.
