GATE 2024: Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru has started online registration for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Those who wish to apply must visit the official website for GATE: gate2024.iisc.ac.in, to register. According to the published dates, the last date to apply is 29 September 2023. However, late fee applicants can fill the form up to 13 October 2023.
IISc Bengaluru will conduct GATE on 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th February 2024. Subject wise dates are yet to be announced. The exam will be held in two shifts every day – from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Also, this year the officials have made some changes in the GATE 2024 format.

Find out the key changes in GATE 2024
- Withdrawal of International Centers: This time GATE 2024 will not be held in any of the international centers. Indians living abroad have to appear for PG engineering entrance exam in India. The official notification said, “GATE 2024 will be conducted only at centers within India. Foreign nationals and Indian nationals living abroad are eligible to appear for GATE 2024 but must select exam cities within India. They have to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements to appear for the exam at the allotted center in India.”
- Introducing a new paper: this year, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence have been added to the GATE 2024 entrance exam. The curriculum of this paper includes probability and statistics, linear algebra, calculus and optimization, programming, data structures and algorithms, database management and storage, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- GATE Application Fees: This year IISc has increased the application fee for the exam. Application fee for GATE 2024 is increased for all category candidates. Compared to the previous year, the fee for female candidates was increased by HRK 100, and for SC/STPwD by HRK 100.
How to apply for GATE 2024?
In order to appear in the GATE exam, candidates will have to apply online mode on the official website. Go through the steps to register for GATE 2024:

Step 2: Click on the link – Apply Online, available on the home page
Step 3: Now register using mobile number, name and email id
Step 4: Login using credentials and complete GATE application by filling personal details and uploading documents
Step 5: To submit the form, pay the application fee using a debit card, credit card
GATE 2024 Application Fees
GATE exam fees can be paid online through net banking/debit card/credit card. The application fee varies depending on the category of the candidate. Check below the application fee that candidates will have to pay:
