Gavin DeGraw Applauds T-Pain’s Cover of His 2003 Hit ‘I Don’t Want to Be’: ‘Love It Man’

T-Pain has a new fan in Gavin DeGraw!

DeGraw, 46, yelled at the producer after releasing a cover of his song “I Don’t Want to Be” as part of a live album and accompanying set titled On Top Of The Covers (Live From The Sun Rose).

After T-Pain, 39, shared a clip of the performance on xformally known on Twitter, DeGraw shared the video on his social media profile and wrote, “Love it man!”

“I Don’t Want to Be” was released as part of Degraw’s 2003 debut album. Carriage. It also served as the official theme for the hit teen drama One Tree Hillwhich was broadcast from 2003 to 2012.

Other non-Auto-Tune covers on T-Pain’s latest album include Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” and Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me.” T-Pain called the live album a “holiday gift” to his fans.

“For all the people who wanted an album of me singing live, this is my holiday gift to you. For A small desk and Masked singer fans and everyone in between, you haven’t heard anything yet. Thank you all for supporting me on this wild journey.” his post on X read.
