Gavin Packard (1964-2012) was an Indian actor, bodybuilder and personal trainer. He is of Irish-American descent. He mainly plays negative roles in Hindi films. Gavin died at a care center in Vasai on May 18, 2012, due to respiratory illness.

Gavin died at a care center in Vasai on May 18, 2012 due to respiratory illness. During the last years of his life, he lived with his brother Daryl Packard in Kalyan, Maharashtra. Gavin is buried at St. Andrews Cemetery in Bandra, Mumbai. According to some sources, Gavin met with an accident while riding his bicycle at the Kalyan Flower Market in Mumbai. Some local residents recognized him and rushed him to a nearby hospital. It is said that he suffered multiple injuries since the accident. Indian actor Sunil Shetty expressed his sadness over Gavin’s death in an interview. Shetty said,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Gavin’s passing. He was a part of all my original films. In fact, he was the one who got Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) to start working out, Bahu acha aadmi tha par Producer se paise maang nahi sakta tha. And then by the end, it becomes a hand-to-mouth existence. We used to train together and he was a pioneer when it came to bodybuilding. He clearly understands every muscle, food intake. Any action movie you name, he’s in it. “

- Gavin has been playing sports since he was a child. While in school, he participated in various sports competitions.
- His grandfather, John Packard, came to Bangalore as a US Army officer and later settled in Bombay.
- Gavin works out with Salman Khan’s personal bodyguard Sheela.
- Indian actor Sanjay Dutt is the godfather of Gavin’s daughters.
- He is fluent in multiple languages including Hindi, English, Punjabi and Gujarati.
- Gavin is afraid of heights. Indian film director GS Vijayan said in an interview about Gavin’s fear:
I remember him as a kind, simple man. But I can’t forget his performance when we were shooting the climax of the film. Hero Srinivasan was calm while filming the scene on top of the building, but Gavin, despite all the evil deeds he committed in the film, was shaking with fear. “
