Gene Simmons Doubles Down on Dancing with the Stars Comments After Backlash: 'I Stand by Every Word'

Gene Simmons is standing by his recent controversial comments to a guest judge Dancing with the stars.

In the episode of October 9 Dancing with the stars for “Hair Metal Night,” the KISS legend was invited as a guest judge and had a lot to say about the contestants’ looks — earning backlash for his remarks.

He called one dancer “hot, hot, hot” and said another contestant moved him “not only with her twirls and so on, but also with your pretty face.”

Speaking with Daily Mail On October 10, Simmons confirmed that he heard the backlash and stands by his comments. “I stand by every word I said,” said the “Detroit Rock City” singer. “I had a great time. The contestants were great. The show was great. Check out the show. It was a lot of fun.”

– Everyone has something to say – added the musician. “Watch the show. It was a lot of fun. Everyone had a great time.”

Former NFL player Danny Amendola and dancer Witney Carson’s performance drew a reaction from Simmons, who told them, “It’s hard to look at you guys and figure out who’s hotter, hotter, hotter.”

“Danny, I’m telling you, you’re right up there with one of the most beautiful women on the planet,” he added.

Gene Simmons faces criticism after ‘creepy’ comments about female dancers on Dancing with the stars

The 75-year-old rocker also spoke 24 year old Pretty Little Liars actress Chandler Kinney, “Chandler, you fogged up my glasses. I don’t know what to tell you. You touch me, not only with your spin and so on, but with your beautiful face and how emotional you were.”

When asked about Simmons’ comments, Kinney’s partner, Brandon Armstrong, said yes Us Weekly“I said, ‘Stop now.’ I have two little sisters. I heard. I said, ‘Wait, wait, wait’.”

In April, he defended Simmons Dance moms alum JoJo Siwa after a drastic rebrand came up with a new look reminiscent of his iconic black and white KISS outfit. “JoJo is cool. Anyone who doesn’t get that is just jealous, period,” he said in an interview with TMZ. “Never be ordinary. Always be extraordinary. JoJo is extraordinary and looks great.”
