The power of witches to create life is contrary to the “line”
Main control and pulling of the line
As revealed Acolyte In episode 3, Sister Anissia tells Osha and May about their coven’s belief in “threads”. The Brundock witches believe that all people are closely connected, and they do not consider the energy field of the Milky Way “a force that can be used”, because pulling a thread too hard may cause events to drastically unravel and change everything. Therefore, it is finally revealed that Anissia seems to have used the Force to create life and give birth to May and Osha, which undoubtedly contradicts the coven’s established beliefs.
Manipulating the Force to create new life feels like exerting a considerable pull on the “string.” Therefore, one would think that Aniseya and her coven would never think of using this power themselves. That being said, perhaps their unique situation and the influence of the Sith Lord pushed Anisyea to transcend their traditions before using this new power.

Confirming that they had not performed any Ascension rituals since their exile, it was clear that Mother Anissia and her fellow witches were simply trying to survive, “about to extinct”Likewise, May and Osha were seen as having magical gifts that could help their order grow and prosper. To this end, perhaps Darth Plagueis took advantage of the coven’s desperation in exile and offered to teach them the powers of the Force, which might be beyond the way they normally use their “threads”.
The theory is that the Coven learned to create life through the Force through Darth Plagueis, rather than the other way around. Again, manipulating the Force to such a high degree feels more like a power from a Sith Lord than the raw power these witches developed on their own, given their beliefs. Why did Plagueis help the witch of Brundock?
Experimentation and future apprenticeship?
There are several reasons why Darth Plagueis was willing to share his power with the Brundock Witches. The first was for pure experimentation. Perhaps Plagueis was still studying this ancient power and was trying to improve the process. Likewise, the Coven likely presented Plagueis as a prime candidate to be tested because they were in exile and looking to strengthen their ranks.
It’s also possible that Plagueis wanted to use the coven to train his own apprentices and offer to help them as a way to increase his own power in the dark side. After all, May would end up being trained by a master who looked a lot like a Sith Lord (most likely a canonical version of Plagueis himself). Furthermore, the established Star Wars Canon has established that the Sith Lords have long sought to create a powerful dyad in the Force, a rare bond between Force-sensitive beings, and Osha and May certainly seem to possess that bond.
