In a current true crime TV programme, Yzaguirre’s violent and horrible acts are being investigated. Approximately seven months after being given a life sentence, Yzaguirre ended up committing suicide in prison. He was 37.
On Sunday, July 3 at 9 p.m., the Investigation Discovery channel’s “Evil Lives Here” programme will examine Yzaguirre’s case. The episode is available for streaming on Discovery+ the same day it airs.
In November 2019, Yzaguirre shared a duplex in Kentwood with David Isner Jr., 34. They had known one another for years. According to Kentwood police, Yzaguirre informed officers that Isner’s words to him had upset him. He, therefore, awaited Isner’s bedtime before striking.
He stabbed Isner more than 70 times, according to the evidence. The body was then abandoned in a public space close to Wilson Avenue NW and Lake Michigan Drive. On December 2, 2019, officers were called to the duplex after Isner’s family reported him missing after not seeing him for a few days. Although there was “an alarming amount of blood” inside the apartment, no one was visible to the officers.
The next morning, Yzaguirre went to a Home Depot close to Division Avenue and 54th Street and requested a worker to call the police so he could turn himself in “for killing two of his friends.” When they spoke with Yzaguirre at that point, they discovered the location of Isner’s body.
Additionally, Yzaguirre claimed to have slain Ed Fuller, 63, at Fuller’s residence in the Pinegate Village Mobile Home Park off Division Avenue near South 76th Street. He had Fuller in mind to rob. When police arrived, they discovered the body. In the end, Yzaguirre entered a plea of guilty to two charges of murder in August 2020.
Kent County Circuit Judge Mark Trusock referred to the acts he committed at sentencing as “an extremely disturbing set of circumstances.” Trusock remarked, “You, sir, definitely are a monster and a threat to civilization.
Attorney for Yzaguirre said that his client’s conduct were motivated by drug and alcohol misuse and that “demons won out.”Isner had three children, one of whom was a son who was only a few months old.
