Geri Halliwell-Horner may be the world’s Ginger Spice, but her kids aren’t impressed with her alter-ego.
While talking to Terrible mom to promote her new fantasy novel Rosie Frost and the Falcon QueenThe 51-year-old musician said her two children, daughter Bluebell, 17, and son Monty, 6, don’t quite understand her Spice Girls legacy.
“She thinks it’s kind of vintage cool — the vintage ’90s are back,” Halliwell-Horner says of her teenage daughter. “Sometimes when her friends come over, I tell her, ‘But I’m a cool mom! I’m a cool mom!’ It’s a classic Mean girls.”

However, Halliwell-Horner teases that her son sees a certain level of drama in his mom, sharing an anecdote of when he came home from school wearing a cast. “I went to him, ‘What happened?’ And his words were: ‘I won’t tell you.’ I said, ‘Why not?’ He says, ‘Because you’re going to be dramatic.’ There are 6!”
Halliwell-Horner also reflects on her approach to being a stepmother to husband Christian Horner’s 9-year-old daughter Olivia. “Respectfully, it’s just allowing the organic process to happen, to build relationships and respect everyone’s differences,” she says.
“It’s not perfect – that’s very important to say – but I have a nice husband. I always say he’s Jimmy Stewart or Tom Hanks. It’s not perfect, but it’s nice.”

“It’s funny, we’re ingrained with certain stories, aren’t we?” she continues. “In fairy tales there is a stepmother who is always there [evil]… She needs a rebrand, doesn’t she?”
The singer often posts photos of her children on her Instagram, and recently she shared some cute shots of mother and son going out to the beach. Sharing a photo of herself and son Monty, Halliwell-Horner smiled for the camera as the two played in the sand.
“A day at the beach! Just heavenly UK sun ☀️,” she captioned the photo.
She also shared a photo of daughter Bluebell in July with her husband as they attended the F1 races in Belgium. The two wore matching jackets and leaned in close together for the picture. “I’m so proud of you 😍 History making moment!” she wrote in her caption. “@christianhorner & Bluebell working hard ⭐️!”
