“You just feel good,” the supermodel, who recently established a new home base in Miami, tells PEOPLE
Gisele Bündchen loves living in the Sunshine State!
While speaking exclusively with PEOPLE in New York after a panel for her new partnership with Gaia Herbs earlier this month, the 43-year-old supermodel got candid about her life in Miami, Florida, which she recently established as her new home base.
“It’s been nice,” Bündchen says of living in the South with her two children — son Benjamin, 13, and daughter Vivian, 10, who she shares with ex-husband Tom Brady. – It’s nice to be outside.
“[Someone once asked,] ‘What is your best wellness treatment?’ and I say: ‘Nature is my best wellness treatment,’ she continues. ‘I just feel the sun, swim in the ocean, run on the sand and feel the grass on my feet.’
Bündchen adds: “Just being in nature gives you energy. It just makes you feel good.”

For Bündchen, being in Florida allows her to live her best life — even when the weather might be unbearable for some.
“I love the sun. [Wherever] it’s the sun, I feel the happiest, always,” she says. “The sun makes you feel good. People say, ‘Oh, it’s so hot’, but I say, ‘I love it.’ I like warmth.”
Bündchen echoed similar sentiments while speaking with PEOPLE earlier this year at the Luz Alliance Fund Miami Gala benefiting the Brazil Foundation. (There she helped raise nearly $1 million for reforestation in her home country of Brazil.)
“I love Miami. I love the sun and the people are very warm and welcoming, I feel at home,” Bündchen explained in May, adding: “I’m very active and Miami is all about being outside, so I really enjoy it .”

When she’s not soaking up the sun in Miami, Bündchen also spends time at a horse farm located elsewhere in Florida, which she bought so daughter Vivian could ride her horse, Item, in privacy.
“Because I took her horseback riding to this place, and every time I took her there, it became the center of the paparazzi. I thought, ‘I can’t live like this. I want to enjoy myself with my daughter.’ ” Bündchen tells PEOPLE about her decision to buy the farm.
“This should be a fun thing to do together. So I thought, this way, I can let her practice what she likes,” continues the proud mom, whose first cook Feed is now available for pre-order.
Bündchen also says her daughter is already looking for another horse, explaining: “He takes care of Vivi and I like that because he’s a very easy horse. But she’s already said, ‘Mom, I have to get a new horse to jump more.’ I said, ‘Calm down.’ “I’ll work, Mom. I will work and I will help you.” ”
“She says, ‘I have to jump higher.’ I say, ‘You’re 10 years old, calm down. Your horse jumps like a meter. You’ll be fine. I think it’s fine where you’re jumping now,'” he adds.
