Glen Powell is a seductive fake killer in the first teaser for Hit Man.
From director Richard Linklater (Dazed and confused, Childhood), the comedy stars Powell as a professor named Gary Johnson who “sleepwalks as a fake killer for the New Orleans Police Department,” according to the synopsis.
Johnson takes on different personalities and guises while undercover as he aims to “capture hapless people hoping to fend off their enemies.”
But, “Gary descends into morally dubious territory when he finds himself drawn to one of these would-be criminals, a beautiful young woman named Madison,” played by Adria Arjona (Morbius).

“Hit Man it is based on a true crime article i read almost 20 years ago Texas Monthly“, Linklater said in a statement. “The film tries to hit a lot of notes — comedy, noir, thriller, psychological study — while examining mostly the concept of identity and how fixed our personalities may or may not be.”
Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone but you star Powell, 35, co-wrote the film with Linklater, 63. The duo also worked together on the 2016 film. Everyone wants some!! and in 2022 Apollo 10 1⁄2: Space Age Childhood.
Hit Man is on Netflix June 7, with a limited theatrical release before then.
