During Sue Sheehan’s candid chat on her sofa, aired on Gogglebox last night, she opened up about her battle with the neurological disorder, which can cause temporary paralysis of the muscles on the side of the face.

Sue spoke openly about learning to live with the condition, which in most cases is temporary.

She said, “I mean I’ve actually learned to do a few things with this Bell’s palsy,” to which her husband replied, “And you?”

She continued, “Yes, one speaks through the mouth and the other chews, chewing takes a long time.”

Steve then said: “I offered to chew your food…” before Sue replied: “You did – but I don’t want to.”

Seeing the funny side, Steve then quipped, “You haven’t lost the sharp side of your tongue, have you?”

Fans quickly took to X’s social media page to show their support, with one posting: “All the best to Sue and much love for bringing Bell’s Palsy to the fore.”

Second paragraph: “Sue and Steve wish you a speedy recovery from Bell’s palsy. Keep being you Sue love seeing you both on Gogglebox.”

A third added: “Love Sue and Steve wishing Sue well,” while one repeated: “Get well soon lovely lady.”

Gogglebox star stunned fans by revealing ‘massive weight loss milestone’ and looking slimmer than ever

Another added: “Fair play to Sue on #gogglebox for turning up with Bella’s palsy.

Raising awareness can only be a good thing, speaking as someone who (hopefully temporarily) suffers from it after brain surgery, I can imagine the courage it takes.”

Sue and Steve joined the show back in 2009.

OPENING

The Sippin’ hitmaker opened up about his struggle to Olivia Attwood’s Too Wrong It’s Right podcast and said: “I felt like my face was on fire all the time. I had good days and bad days and sometimes I’d take steroids, which would knock it down.

“When I did that N-Dubz thing, it was the worst, so you can see the interview, I look normal. And then you see another interview, it’s like, what the hell is going on with my face?

“And I had all these health problems for years – sarcoidosis, immune disorders – and that explains all the symptoms I was getting that could have caused Bell’s palsy because there were, I think, six of them.
