Golden Bachelor: Kaitlyn Bristowe Doles Out a Date as 1 Woman Is Told to Keep Her ‘Mouth Shut’ in Clash over Gerry

Warning: This post contains spoilers from Thursday’s episode The Golden Bachelor.

There was no shortage of drama this week The Golden Bachelor.

Gerry Turner was left in tears after one woman’s sudden departure, and there was no love lost between Kathy and Theresa, who clashed over Theresa’s boastful attitude after getting their first one-on-one date of the season.

On a lighter note, the women took to the stage in a talent show and attempted to dance and sing their way to a solo dinner with the Golden Bachelor. But it wasn’t just Gerry to impress – ex-Bachelor Kaitlyn Bristowe also had a seat at the judges’ table.

Talent show

At the beginning of the episode, host Jesse Palmer arrived at the mansion to invite all 12 women to perform in a talent show for Gerry.

While the 72-year-old retired restaurateur was hoping to see “the other side” of the ladies’ personalities, they were thrilled to learn that Kaitlyn would be a judge. And that was it ago she informed them that the winner of the talent show would be awarded a romantic one-on-one dinner with Gerry.

The women showed off their unique talents: Ellen asked the audience to participate in a high school sex class (“I want this side of the room to repeat after hoo hah is a vagina”), Susan demonstrated karate, and Faith sang an original song for Gerry.

Leslie delivered an energetic dance performance that she was confident would secure her victory.

But it was Joan – who said she was “not a performer” – who caught Gerry’s attention with her song “I just hope I’m not throwing up on your shoes”.

“I’m reciting this poem to you, Gerry, because I really just want one more rose,” began the 60-year-old headmistress of a private school. “I hope you can see that being on this stage could really cheer me up, and you’ll give extra points just because you didn’t throw up on your shoes.”

Dinner one on one

After arriving at dinner, Joan and Gerry discussed their relationship struggles after the loss, but both realized they were ready to find a new partner.

Joan admitted she had a “very hard time” leaving the house after her daughter gave birth 15 days before the show. She explained her decision to come to the show with the words: “For the first time in my life, I’m really going to do something for myself because I think I’m ready and this is an opportunity I simply can’t let go of.” .”

Gerry responded by toasting the Maryland native, saying, “I want to tell you that I’m as excited to spend time with you as I’ve ever been with anybody, so this is for you and this is for the future.” He then gave Joan a rose and the pair kissed.

However, their dreams of the future were short-lived. The next morning Joan received a text from her daughter and broke down in tears asking if she was going to leave the show to be with her family.

She told Gerry: “I got a text this morning and I think I have to go home and be a mum now. So as much as I don’t want to leave—and I don’t want to abandon our journey—I have to be a parent.”

While he understood her decision, Gerry told her he was “disappointed” she was leaving, adding: “I was delighted we had the conversation we did, but there’s a moral compass at stake and sometimes doing the right thing is the hardest.”

After sharing a goodbye kiss with Joan, Gerry broke down in tears on the bench outside the mansion.

Another one on one

Fashion designer Michael Costello came to the mansion to help Ellen get ready for her dream date with Gerry.

After slipping into the perfect pink dress, she got into the limo with Gerry for their date. During dinner, the father of two discussed his wedding date, and Ellen recalled meeting her ex-wife when she was just 10 years old.

Along the way, Gerry presented Ellen with chandelier earrings to complete her look and then took her on a hot air balloon ride. The exit from the fairy tale ended with an exchange of roses and a kiss.

“Every minute with Ellen today was a gift,” he said. “There’s something about her personality that draws me in. She could be the one I spend the rest of my life with.”

Cocktail party

Theresa struggled to come to terms with Gerry’s relationships with other women after getting her first one-on-one date of the season. “It’s getting harder to see him hooking up because I really don’t know what he’s up to with other women,” she explained. “It’s a different feeling going to a rose ceremony without a rose.”

Before the cocktail party, Theresa told Kathy about her relationship with Gerry and recalled their off-the-charts date, saying, “It was amazing. We didn’t stop talking. We were smiling the whole time. He was talking about the future.”

However, Kathy — who had her own worries about getting the rose — wasn’t a fan of Theresa’s boastful attitude, explaining in the confessional: “I don’t want to hear it. I think she thinks she has this.”

April interfered in Theresa and Kathy’s problems by telling Theresa to “keep her mouth shut” about the “intimate” moments between her and Gerry. Theresa seemed shocked to learn that April was speaking for Kathy.

During a one-on-one with Gerry, Kathy admitted she’d had a “tough day”, adding: “I’ve had a lot of daggers today so I’m just trying to keep it in.”

When asked who is at the heart of the problem, Kathy responded without naming names, saying, “I think sometimes what you see at first is not what it is and I don’t want to make a mistake and I don’t want them to make a mistake. My biggest goal for you is to be happy. I want you to be happy.”

After their conversation, Gerry felt he had seen a “whole new side” to Kathy and gave her a rose.

Despite getting the rose, Kathy isn’t over the drama with Theresa. When Theresa pulled her aside, she said, “I think you and Gerry are very close. Here’s my problem… I feel like you’re rejecting me, like, ‘He and I are riding off into the sunset. Go pack because you’re going home. You made me feel that way sometimes.”

“Oh my God,” she replied. “I didn’t know that. I’m sorry.”

Kathy added that Theresa’s previous comments were “possessive” and “territorial”. Theresa replied that she was trying to be “open and honest” and Kathy said she “doesn’t fall for it.”

After the conversation, Theresa burst into tears in her bedroom, where Gerry found her and tried to comfort her. She told him, “Everyone thinks I was bragging about having a relationship with you.”

Then he reassured Theresa and told her, “If you don’t believe in your heart that you were boastful, if you don’t believe that you did something to hurt someone, then I think you should leave it.”

Rose ceremony

Gerry began the rose ceremony by reflecting on the week’s “extremely good highs” and “unfortunate lows”. He encouraged the ladies to keep the faith, adding: “As time goes on, we have to keep hope in the journey and the process we all go through.”

Faith, Sandra, Leslie, Nancy, Susan, April and Theresa received roses while Edith and Christina said their goodbyes.

Who went home on The Golden Bachelor? Gerry Turner’s order of elimination

After having Rose, Theresa knew her journey was just beginning with Gerry and the other women. “Today I shared things I shouldn’t have,” she said. “I said things I shouldn’t have and Kathy was very upset. I’m very sad that she was so upset and I had a really good relationship with Kathy before all of this happened so I hope to have it again. I want to move forward with all good feelings.”

However, she couldn’t help but reveal more details about her time with Gerry to Kathy, saying: “He got to where I was staring in the bedroom.”

Kathy was shocked so he went into the bedroom and added, “Theresa, those are some things you should keep to yourself.”

“I really don’t think Theresa had a clue. I run my mouth all the time, as we all know, but I’m also intuitive,” said Kathy in a confessional interview. “I think Theresa is a good person, but I can’t figure out if she’s dumb as a rock or if she knows exactly what she’s doing.”
