Gordon Ramsay and Wife Tana Ramsay Have a Monthly Standing Date — with a 'Proper' Dress Code Rule

Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana may have six children, but they sure know how to keep track of date nights.

During the episode Happy mom Happy baby podcast, Tana, 50, opened up about how she and her Michelin-starred chef husband, 57, have a standing date every month — and that includes a very specific dress code.

“In our relationship we have small children again, our gift to each other for our last anniversary was, we have to go to the theater once a month and we have to go out three times a month, and we can’t wear tennis shoes,” she told host Giovanni Fletcher.

Gordon and Tana – who share Megan, 26, twins Holly and Jack, 24, Tilly, 22, Oscar, 5, and Jesse, 9 months – got used to wearing sneakers and jeans during the COVID-19 pandemic, she explained.

“So we’ll sort of dress up in a nice dress and I’ll wear heels and he’ll wear a suit or shirt and matching shoes,” she added. “A real time together.”

Those dedicated nights always have “the best conversations,” Tana said.

“We go to dinner and we talk about ourselves, we talk about each other, we talk about the kids, but it’s not just about the kids,” she said. “And I think because we’re older parents, we just feel like we’re better at it all.”

“Evening dates are key, whether it’s going to the cinema or going out for a drive. We have little time, but it is of good quality and that is very important,” he said.

Those nights do not have to fall on a weekend. In fact, they prefer weekends.

“Everyone thinks Monday is the most boring day. It’s not,” he explained. “With a young family, we seize moments, and that moment to go out is crucial.”

After 27 years of marriage, the couple has learned that small trips are also one of their favorite ways to reconnect and spend quality time together.

“We were in Nottingham two weeks ago. We went to see Tilly at her university. And after walking around campus and seeing Tilly on her campus, we went to dinner at a two Michelin star venue [restaurant] up in Nottingham and then drove back the next morning,” added Gordon.
