He then decided to work behind the scenes as a director. At that time, India was setting up satellite channels. Govardhan was then approached by a production company, but he didn’t want to work under his boss. Later, he invited people from the village to invest in his business. In an interview, Govardhan’s son Vijay said about the same:
Several production companies asked Dad to direct. He comes from a “Dora” mentality of not wanting to work for someone else. So he looked for real estate people in the village to invest. They do it just to see their name on TV. But when payments were delayed, they backed out. Then Dad shot commercials for the government and that kept us going. Dad is my staunch supporter. He was very happy for me today. “

Growing up, my dad told me that love was bullshit and money was the center of the world…and this was so ingrained in me that when I grew up, I didn’t believe in relationships. I began to believe that whoever came to me came with a need. When someone says they love me, I never say I love you too. To this day, it doesn’t happen as naturally as it should. “
