Gracie Abrams Reveals She Has Joni Mitchell Tattoo While Fangirling Over Singer's 2024 Grammys Performance

Gracie Abrams’ most important red carpet accessory? Her Joni Mitchell tattoo.

On the red carpet at the 2024 Grammy Awards, Abrams, 24, revealed she had ink inspired by Mitchell — and fell in love with the legendary singer-songwriter, 80.

When asked at Grammy Live! from the Red Carpet, which inspires her musically, answered the “Feels Like” singer without hesitation.

“Joni Mitchell, who’s performing today. I’ve never seen her perform,” she said, adding: “I have her handwriting tattooed on me.”

After showing where the tattoo is on her forearm, Abrams added, “I just really love her more than anything, and so being around her… I’m already trying not to lose my s—.”

The Good Riddance the musician — who is up for best new artist at the awards — previously revealed that the ink is a nod to Mitchell’s song, “River.”

The heartbreaking ballad is not only Abrams’ favorite song, but also her mom’s, she said in an interview with Circle sessions. “I hear that all the time,” added Fr Blue path.

For her Grammy debut — and the first time she’s seen Mitchell perform live! — Abrams wore a strapless black crop top and matching satin skirt with pleated details, all Chanel.

Discussing the simple yet elegant outfit on the red carpet, the singer said: “They were so lovely to work with.”

“I just wanted to wear something that I felt I could breathe in and where I didn’t take up space,” she added of the look. “They are the best. I just wanted to feel in my own skin and they helped me with that.”

While Abrams wowed her on the red carpet, Mitchell took home her 10th career Grammy for Best Folk Album for her album Joni Mitchell in Newport [Live].

Later in the evening, he will mark another career milestone by performing at the awards ceremony for the first time in his storied career.
