Grant Hochstein started figure skating at the age of 9. He quickly fell in love with athletics. In late 2009, he began his professional career as a junior figure skater at the 2009 US Championships. He finished third in the tournament and received a pewter medal. During the 2009-2010 season, he competed at ISU Junior Grand Pix. During the season, he finished second at a competition in Budapest. In addition, he is fourth in Dresden. As a result, he reached the final round of the ISU Junior Grand Prix. The tournament finished in fifth place.
