Grease star Olivia Newton-John Passed Away At The Age Of 73

Olivia Newton-John, singer and actress, died on Monday, August 8, at the age of 73. Her Grease co-star John Travolta paid tribute, writing,

“You’ve made all of our lives so much better, Olivia.” Your influence was immense. I adore you to pieces. See you later and we will all be together again. Yours from the first time I saw you to the end of the world! Your Danny and John!”

The organization of her funeral is still being completed.

Cause of death of Olivia Newton-John

Olivia Newton’s husband, John’s John Easterling, confirmed her death in a message on social media. She died on August 8 at her home, surrounded by family and friends, he said. While the exact cause of death was not released at the time, a source close to the composer said she died after a three-decade battle with metastatic breast cancer.

The four-time Grammy winner was diagnosed with the disease the same weekend her father died of cancer. Her treatment included a partial mastectomy, chemotherapy and breast reconstruction. In 2017, her breast cancer reappeared and spread to her lower back. She subsequently stated that this was her third battle with breast cancer and that in 2013 she secretly faced a recurrence of the disease, with the first diagnosis in 1992. In 2017, the disease affected her bones and was in the fourth stage. Olivia had to deal with a lot of discomfort as a result of metastatic bone lesions and lobbied for the use of cannabis oil to ease the agony.
