Green Day and 7-Eleven Announce Exclusive Blend of Band’s Punk Bunny Coffee: 'A Full-Circle Moment'

Green Day teams up with 7-Eleven for a lively coffee collaboration.

To mark two special milestones — the 30th anniversary of Green Day’s breakthrough album Dookie and the 60th anniversary of 7-Eleven’s launch of the concept of freshly brewed coffee in to-go cups — the rock band has created a special Anniversary Blend of its Punk Bunny Coffee that will be sold exclusively at US 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes locations.

The Anniversary Blend has vibrant citrus notes along with rich stone fruit nuances, finished with a warm cocoa flavor and a hint of spice, creating a “multi-layered coffee experience,” according to a press release. In addition to the limited-edition offerings, Green Day will bring their Fair Trade-certified coffee to 7-Eleven with bagged blends and K-cups from Punk Bunny’s Sound Check and Last Ride In roasts.

Fans can also score a limited-edition collectible Punk Bunny-inspired refill mug at 7-Eleven and Speedway stores while supplies last. The two companies also created exclusive merchandise — including co-branded t-shirts, hoodies, hats, totes, buttons and stickers — sold through 7-Eleven’s online store, 7Collection.

Green Day’s collaboration with 7-Eleven is fitting, as the band’s members — Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool and Mike Dirnt — were regulars at the store when they first got their start in the Berkeley, California music scene.

“When we first got together as a band in high school, the 7-Eleven in our hometown was our main venue,” Green Day frontman Armstrong, 52, said in a statement. “As we celebrate the anniversaries of two of our biggest albums, it’s a perfect time to have our Punk Bunny coffee company available in 7-Eleven stores.”
