Halle Bailey feels like royalty!
After the premiere of the film in Los Angeles Purple at the Academy Museum on Wednesday, Little Mermaid The 23-year-old actress continued to rock with her red carpet looks.
“Last night was a dream at the premiere of the color purple✨ 🥰♥️,” Bailey began on the Instagram carousel on Thursday.
In the post, the “Angel” singer shared several photos of herself posing in a custom Off-White layered maroon dress. Bailey accessorized with statement earrings and bold, deep red lips.

“I’m truly grateful to be a part of such a moving film.. I can’t wait for you all to see it on Christmas,” she continued, before thanking the brand founded by the late Virgil Abloh for creating the garment.
“Also thank you so much @off____white for making this beautiful dress for me. I really felt like a princess!! 👑♥️✨.”

The upcoming film is an adaptation of Alice Walker’s novel and the Tony-winning Broadway musical that inspired it.
Bailey was announced as Nettie in the Oprah Winfrey-produced film in February 2022.
“She is someone whose presence you can feel in her absence. The memory of her, the feeling of her, her strength comes through, even when you only hear her voice in her letters,” said Winfrey, 69. vanity fair of the then singers Chloe x Halle.

Winfrey also made her debut as Sofia in the 1985 film version directed by Steven Spielberg, which earned her an Academy Award nomination. Both attended the premiere in LA on Wednesday.
Fantasia Barrino, who portrays Celie in her feature film debut, and Danielle Brooks, who plays Sofia, also attended the event. Brooks also made her film debut Purple.

“There is nothing that has been more important or vital to me culturally or artistically than Purple. It’s a solid base of spiritual and emotional power for me,” Winfrey said in an exclusive clip she shared with PEOPLE in September. “Every woman and man who’s been invisible, who’s felt unseen and unappreciated, this is their story.”
Director Blitz Bazawule, who helmed Beyoncé’s Black is kinghe called the original 1985 film “one of the cornerstones of culture, certainly black culture.”
The film’s official description describes it as a “bold new take on a beloved classic” about the “extraordinary sisterhood of three women who share an unbreakable bond.”
Purple arrives in theaters on December 25.
