Halsey Shares Video from Hospital After Suffering 'Very Scary' Seizure: 'Don’t Recommend It'

Halsey revealed that she was hospitalized after suffering a seizure.

On Sept. 25, the pop star — who uses the pronouns she/they — shared the news while answering fan questions on Xu, formerly of Twitter.

The singer (29) responded to a fan who asked for an update on her health. Earlier this year, she shared that she was diagnosed with a form of lupus two years ago, as well as another rare disease.

“Now I’m home from the hospital after a few days, so a win is a win!” Halsey wrote.

“Was it related to chronic health issues or something new/acute? I hope you feel better!” another person asked before answering, “I had a seizure! Very scary! I don’t recommend it!”

Halsey, 29, diagnosed with lupus and another rare disorder, says she ‘feels better’ after ‘Rocky Start’

A few hours later, the “Bad at Love” singer posted a video on Instagram from a hospital bed having an IV with her fiance Avan Jogia.

“Happy Late Bi Visibility Day,” she captioned the post. “This year I’m celebrating by dying with a man by my side (for legal reasons, that’s a joke).”

In the clip, the couple wished their followers a happy Bi Day, with Halsey adding, “We had a whole plan for you,” as she laughed and threw up a peace sign.

“Lol so glad you posted this,” Jogia added in the comments.

In June, Halsey revealed that she was diagnosed in 2022 with lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system mistakes healthy tissues for foreign invaders and attacks them instead of targeting bad bacteria and viruses. It causes inflammation that can affect the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs. There is currently no cure for the disease.

Lymphoproliferative disorders are a group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled production of white blood cells called lymphocytes, according to Healthline. T-cell disorders include leukemia and lymphoma.

Halsey explained that despite a “rough start” she was able to slowly get her health under control with the help of her doctors.

“After 2 years, I feel better and more grateful than ever to have music to turn to,” she concluded. “I can’t wait to get back to where I belong: with all of you 🤍 Singing and screaming my heart out.”
