Notre Dame basketball player Hannah Hidalgo was introduced to the sport by her parents at an early age. She scored a McDonald’s All-America Games career-high 26 points and tied a game-high 8 steals, earning her Co-MVP honors. Parents of Hannah Hidalgo: Father Orlando and Tamara
Hannah Hidalgo, Orlando and Tamara’s third child, grew up in a basketball-loving family. Her parents, both former basketball players, introduced her to the sport at an early age, and the family developed a deep connection with the game. Orlando, her father, was a key figure in her basketball career, mentoring her from a young age. He currently works as the head coach at Life Center Academy in Burlington.
Hannah’s mother, Tamara, is an avid user of social media, often reporting on her daughter’s and boy’s successes. The family currently resides in Pennsauken, New Jersey. Tamara attended Life Center Academy before enrolling at Thomas Edison State University.
Her parents are her biggest supporter
Hannah Hidalgo’s parents, like any parent, are her biggest supporter. Despite her busy schedule, her mother always finds time to celebrate her daughter’s achievements. She regularly discusses Hannah’s life experiences. Similarly, her father is very supportive. During the interview, Orlando proudly recalled how he recognized his daughter’s extraordinary potential at the age of six, when she competed in a boys’ league and won the coveted MVP championship.
Hannah continued to compete against men through high school and was an enthusiastic participant in the Philly Triple Threat grassroots program. Her youngest brother Judah, who is two years younger than Hannah, also plays basketball and grew up going up against his older sister. He received his first MVP award when he was only seven years old. Hannah has two older brothers who also played basketball.
