Adam Sandler is back in the (golf) swing!
Recording for Happy Gilmore 2the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 sports comedy classic is underway — and Sandler, 58, and actor Ben Stiller are back like they never left.
Photos taken on Friday, November 8 show both actors on the set of the upcoming film in Kearny, NJ

Stiller, 58, slipped seamlessly back into his role as the duplicitous elderly orderly — named Hal L., after his name tag — who lied to Happy (played by Sandler) about how his grandmother was being treated at the retirement home. .

However, his neat uniform is gone – except for the signature plaque. Instead, Stiller was spotted wearing a blue patterned button-down shirt, a black vest and blue jeans, plus yellow aviator sunglasses and a horseshoe moustache.
He was also photographed side by side with stuntman Greg Fitzpatrick, who sported the same outfit and biker moustache.

Meanwhile, Sandler, who plays the titular hockey star-turned-professional golfer, was seen in a “Sandlercore” ensemble: a baggy hoodie and T-shirt.

The photos from the New Jersey set come more than six months after Christopher McDonald — who played Happy’s rival Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore — during the interview in March 2024, I forgot that the sequel to the film was in the works.
Sandler confirmed the news the following month, and Netflix officially confirmed in May that the actor would reprise his iconic role.

Apart from Stiller and McDonald, the cast Happy Gilmore 2 will also include Travis Kelce and Benny Safdie, who will have “juicy roles,” Sandler told IndieWire in August.

The extent of Kelce’s involvement, meanwhile, remains unclear. On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in August, Sandler said that “we’ve got something nice for Travis” and “he’s going to drop by.”

After announcing the NFL star’s role in the sequel, Sandler appeared on Kelce’s podcast New heights to talk about the upcoming film — and revealed a little more about its plot.
“The movie itself came from an older guy who played golf for a long time,” the comedian said at the time. “There are things going on in his life, and he’s different – he’s a bit of a mess.”
“And then we try to boil his life again,” Sandler added.
