HARDY and wife Caleigh want to expand their family.
Speaking to PEOPLE on the red carpet at the 2024 ACM Awards on Thursday, May 16, the “Truck Bed” singer revealed his plans to bring a furry friend along with his bride.
“We’re thinking about getting a cat and a dog at the moment,” says HARDY, 33. “I think we’re going to get a Tibetan Mastiff.”
The “Wait in the Truck” singer also opened up about life with Caleigh, who he married in October 2022.
“Communication is generally our thing. If you’re mad about something, just tell them you’re mad. Don’t hide anything,” he says.
“Nothing really changed because it’s not like I started treating her differently,” he adds. – I respected her more after we got married.

HARDY and Caleigh, who first started dating in 2018, previously revealed to PEOPLE how they met — because the country singer DMed her.
“We just started talking about San Diego and her going to Ole Miss and my family at Mississippi State,” HARDY said. “We stayed in touch until I had a gig near her school and told her I’d like to meet her there.”
When the day of his show came, Caleigh said she “dragged” her roommates Brooke and Amanda to come with her.

“Once we met, there was really no one else,” Caleigh said. “We never entertained anyone else. It was that simple.”
Then HARDY added: “I loved her after our third date. It was the most real thing I’ve ever experienced. I actually told her I loved her at Stagecoach, out in the crowd.”
At the awards, HARDY was nominated for Artist-Songwriter of the Year alongside Zach Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen and ERNEST.
The 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards are broadcast live on Prime Video from the Ford Center at The Star in Texas.
