Who plays Harley Quinn in James Gunn’s DC Universe?

If Robbie doesn’t play Harley Quinn in the new DCU, then her famous look, Weaving, would be a great fit for the role. Weaving’s ability to play Harley goes beyond any superficial comparisons to Robbie, and the actress has shown in her previous roles that she can do justice to the eclectic villain . Wevin’s acting credits include quite a few gory stories, and the actress has portrayed complex characters like Harley Quinn. Weaving can bring a new flavor to the character, moving away from Robbie’s Harley Quinn character in the comics for a more refined, human version of the character.

However, Gunn’s new foray into the DCU seems to be moving more into comics territory than DC’s previous films and series. Based on this, it’s hard to believe that any actress other than Robbie would play Harley Quinn in a major DCU classic. DCU’s recently announced first chapter, “Gods and Monsters,” further increases the possibility of Robbie returning to Harley. In the DCU roster reveal, Gunn mentioned that team peace – from the show he developed – will star Viola Davis back wall maker series. Looks like some old DC movies are DCU canon.

In the end, there’s really no need to recast Robbie for the DCU, as the actress is one of DC’s all-time favorites and could continue to play the role for a long time. Other Harley Quinns could appear in different versions of the character in the announced DC Elseworlds label – a project that will take place outside of the DCU continuously. That way a full DCU reset won’t be necessary and Robbie can continue to play Harley for years to come.
