KATE MIDDLETON is “heartbroken” by Prince William’s decision to send Prince George to Eton College when he turns 13, a royal insider has claimed.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have been spotted touring Kate’s old co-educational private school in Wilshire, Marlborough College, twice in two months, leading to speculation that they may send Prince George, 10, there instead of the all-boys school Eton College. which Prince William attended.

The mother-of-three is not believed to be keen on single-sex schools such as Eton as she reportedly “absolutely hated” her time at Downe House, a girls’ boarding school in Berkshire, where she was allegedly bullied.
Speaking to In Touch Weekly, a source said Kate is “heartbroken” at the thought of sending her son to boarding school because she was “horribly bullied” and “can’t bear the thought of George suffering because of it.”
Both Prince William and brother Prince Harry attended Eton College, which costs £15,432 per term, breaking with royal tradition as senior members of the royal family previously attended Gordonstoun in north-east Scotland.
The source claimed that Kate and William spent “years” arguing over the idea of sending their children to boarding school.
But, they claim, Kate “finally relented” and agreed for her son to follow in his father’s and uncle’s footsteps when he turns 13.
“Kate has long disagreed with her husband about sending him away, even though it’s a tradition,” they said.
“Kate thinks that sending him to such a stifling, senior institution goes against all their efforts to modernize the monarchy.
“Besides, she will miss George desperately.
“She and William argued about it for years, but he finally won.”
At just 13, King Charles was reportedly sent to Gordonstoun – one of the UK’s leading independent schools – by his father, Prince Philip – who also studied there.
At the time, the decision to send him to a British school was far from the royal norm – and he reportedly disliked it very much.
Charles reportedly did not feel well at Gordonstoun as he referred to his time at the school as a “prison sentence”, referring to the school as “Colditz in kilts”.
Charles described the difficult times he was going through in a letter home in 1963, which read: “The people in my dorm are nasty. God, they’re terrible.
“I don’t know how anyone can be so nasty.”
In another, he wrote: “I hardly sleep in the House because I snore and they keep hitting me on the head.” It is absolute hell.”
This followed Charles’ apparent disdain for his alma mater, which he attended from 1962 to 1967 and which she famously dubbed “Colditz in kilts”.
