Heidi Klum on Embracing Spooky Season: 'I Don't Want to Ever Let Any of My Halloween Fans Down'

Heidi Klum wants to go all out for Halloween.

The 51-year-old supermodel talks to PEOPLE exclusively about her love for the spooky season and how she never wants to fail her fans, who eagerly await the star’s plans every October.

“I have a lot of creative people around the world who are fans, who are artists — makeup artists, hair stylists, designers or people who may not even be in that field — and they love the creativity of Halloween,” Klum says.

“So I don’t want to let my fans down on Halloween,” continues the America has talent judge. “I’m always trying to come up with something that’s unique and different and that surprises or shocks people.”

Klum — who recently launched Modelverse, an online fashion experience she created and designed for Roblox — is known for her extravagant costumes and her annual Halloween party in New York City.

In past years, the star has disappeared as a peacock, a worm, a zombie mom, a werewolf, a zombie alien, Jessica Rabbit, Princess Fiona from Shrek and even clones of themselves.

Klum recently told PEOPLE that she’s been working on this year’s Halloween costume “for months,” explaining, “Because molds have to be made. Prosthetics should be made, extensions should be made.”

“There’s a lot because I wanted to be so spectacular that this is not something I can throw on overnight,” she added. “It takes a lot of time. It takes a lot of planning. And also when I do reveal, I want to have a special reveal because I know I have so many fans, and those Halloween fans are people who like to dress up and do amazing things.”
