In newyorknico’s recent Instagram post, an adorable Chihuahua can be seen dressed as Pinhead. The pup wears a leather costume, complete with a hood studded with pins, shaped to resemble Pinhead’s own horrific head ornament. The costume is part of the annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade, one of the largest of its kind in the world, now in its 31st year. Check out the adorable puppy costumes below:

Pinhead the canine didn’t seem too bothered by his new costume and was lovingly held in his owner’s arms. The adorable pup even sticks out his tongue slightly, adding to the silliness of it all. Other images from the carousel illustrate the importance of the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade and the lengths people go to to have the prettiest dog of the bunch. Other dog costumes featured in the post include a Blue Origin rocket, Tootsie Roll, a Dunkin’ Donuts employee and the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz.

“Adorable” is a word not often associated with horror villains, but Pinhead the Chihuahua could hardly be described in any other way. This little creature is so cute, it might make the actual Amityville Horror movie a little less scary. When the reboot is finally released, the new ways will likely be decidedly less cute and more terrifying, but, for now, viewers can rest assured if the four-legged needle actually comes to haunt them and isn’t trying to “tear” them apart. Souls separated,” it might just want a hug.
