As the winner, Dave received $250,000 and a position as a chef at the posh Araxi Restaurant and Bar in the beautiful town of Whistler, British Columbia. As the popular ski town prepares for the 2010 Winter Olympics, there’s still a lot of work to do to prepare Araxi for the expected crowds. When Dave arrived, he was surprised to learn that the position wasn’t actually a chef position. Instead, he took a job as a chef. Due to this news, Dave decided to leave his role on Araxi shortly after the Olympics.

Originally from Chester, NJ, Dave returned home after leaving Whistler. Although his social media presence is hidden or non-existent, it is rumored that he currently works as a baker at Mara’s Café & Bakery in Denville, New Jersey. Outside Hell Kitchen Alum’s culinary career Dave has also openly talked about his experience hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2005. In 2014, he was arrested during an anti-drug campaign. Soon after, his innocence was proven and he was released.

As for the Araxi Restaurant and Bar, it continues to thrive. A destination restaurant, Araxi’s kitchen is currently run by Executive Chef James Walt. According to the official Araxi website, Chef Walt focuses on a seasonal menu made with local ingredients. In 2016, Araxi published a second cookbook curated by Chef Walt titled Araxi: From root to bud, farm new recipes. The restaurant remained open for much of the pandemic, with staff strictly following the health care authority’s social distancing guidelines.

In 2010, Dave parted ways with Araxi Restaurant, a year later Hell Kitchen win. Luckily, the former reality TV star and restaurant are still doing well. Hell Kitchen Fans who are in the Pacific Northwest with an empty stomach and a stack of change in their pocket may want to visit Araxi.
